Notebook computers are under 7lbs (3kg) in weight,  can be programmed (that excludes organisers)  and has some means of storing the data in a portable form (that excludes intelligent terminals which are application specific).

We report exclusively on matters to do with the ease of carrying the computer around
  or devices, programs, and services which make it easier for the person carrying the computer.

We are not a site for the glorification of specific operating system, preferring to see  whether they are efficient when they are used away from the  desk.

We have in the past (printed edition) listed the merits of individual computers from  manufacture's by model number, size of hard Disk RAM etc.
But differing models are coming out so rapidly now that it is impossible to keep up. We instead direct  you to the manufacturers main site where you can download  the specific details you require.

Web Based Newsletter
This is a Web Based Newsletter which means we mostly expect Web users to  require only pointing in the right direction for the rest of news story and we print  the URL (Web Page) for the site concerned. We are not responsible for out of
date links as these were correct at time of publication, but the constant updating  of manufacturers sites is beyond our control.

Frames
No Frames are used so that  links can be book marked, it is often impossible on
frames based sites to find your way back to a particular page as the History file
is often wiped as soon as a new frame is loaded.
Graphics are kept to a minimum to reduce the time spent downloading them.
